  29. My wife is off to Kuwait for a wedding! Rich people. Love them. Stuck here with putting a good face on the business. Delighted to have those holidays behind me.

My wife loves the green paint on Fortnum's. Flaked off a bit and has tried, unsuccessfully, to match. Life. One challenge after another.

All the best! Happy you are back to enliven our new year.

    1. Anon, I don't know even what Edinburgh Thistle is - is it the bowl? It's Lalique.

Rebecca Ida, Rose & Denise, thank you so much.
Michael - that's a long way to go for a wedding, I would have sent a card and gift and called it a day! Then again, I am heart lazy when it comes to travel.

Just when I had written off Aperol until the weather warms up (at this point it could be never) I had a delicious new cocktail the other night at one of my favorite NYC bars. Will be blogging about it soon, but if you haven't put yours away you'll have to give it a try. Not sure of the proportions but I've got till my self imposed detox starting date of Monday to perfect it. Aperol, a very good vermouth (he used Carpano Antica Formula) and a splash of Pellegrino. Very tasty!

Have been without internet access since mid November and it has been sheer hell (suffice to say if anyone from BT ever phones you up and offers a deal to switch just say NO!) but I am so glad to see you blogging again. It hasn't been the same without you.

All the very best for 2014!
