I cup of butter, 3/4 cup of sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, 3 tablespoons golden syrup, 2 and 1/4 cup flour and lashings of bourbon vanilla extract.
175 degrees C/350F for 15/20 minutes.
They are the best, cheap, easy peasy, sniscuits ever.
Dunk them in Armagnac - mmm, naughty but nice.
Meanwhile, today I'm out here indulging in a de rigueur bowl of strawberries and cream, I draw the line at dressing in purple and green but I will not hesitate once again to sound the bugle call to the Colonies for support for our boy Andy Murray. I will be heading indoors at 2 pm sharp to scream at the television until he lifts the Wimbledon trophy aloft. If it all goes wrong I'll be dabbing away my tears with a Saltire.
